Horton Hears a Who!

Monday, March 24th, 2008

The kids had the day off from school today and we all went to the movies… Jim Carrey was great as Horton the elephant and Steve Carell did a fine job as the Mayor of Who-ville, the father of 96 daughters and 1 son! We all enjoyed the show.

Twisted

Sunday, February 29th, 2004

Thriller (R)

Synopsis: Newly promoted police inspector Jessica Shepard is searching for a serial killer, and is shocked to discover that men she has recently slept with are victims.

The investigation becomes more and more twisted as her partner behaves strangely, and the police commissioner is being asked to remove her from the investigation as she is a prime suspect. All the clues point to her and Jessica begins to suspect that she might be the killer she is looking for.

Ashley Judd was in this movie and Ray and I didn’t think it was up to par with her other movies that she has been in… Of coarse Andy Garcia was great to look at and as the title inferred it had a twisted ending… All n’ all it was just so so…

During the young man’s attempt to avenge his death by killing that bear, the Great Spirits transform the young man into the thing he detests most

Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over

Monday, September 15th, 2003

Overview:
The third installment of the successful children’s spy series finds Carmen (Alexa Vega) kidnapped and transported into a virtual reality game created by the Vega family’s evil enemy, the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone).

Just before school started Ray and I took Erin to see this movie… I loved it! I love 3-D movies anyway and I thought the story was great… I think Erin grasped most of the story being only 6 and just starting first grade, but any child that likes computer games and is about 8-9 years old would love it… I would like to rent the previous movies of the series and watch them myself!

Once Upon a Time in Mexico

Sunday, September 14th, 2003

Read on…

Overview:
Robert Rodriguez’s second sequel to El Mariachi starts up after the events of Desperado. Guitar- and gun-totin’ Antonio Banderas is back, but he’s lying low after all he’s lost. Until, that is, a corrupt CIA agent (Johnny Depp) convinces the legendary fighter to thwart the plan of a drug lord (Willem Dafoe) to overthrow the Mexican government. El Mariachi agrees to help, but he has his own agenda (namely revenge) in mind.

I’m only mentioning this movie because I hate to see anyone waist there money on this movie… The story… what do I mean there wasn’t any… So don’t bother to go see them…

Dirty Pretty Things

Sunday, September 14th, 2003

We couldn’t find anything else to go see last weekend so we went to see Dirty Pretty Things… Click on…

Overview:
In this British crime thriller, an illegal Nigerian immigrant (Chjwetel Ejiofor) working at a London hotel makes a shocking discovery and enlists the help of a co-worker, a Turkish chambermaid (Audrey Tautou), to investigate what looks like a murder.

Ray and I went to see this movie cause there wasn’t anything else in… It was listed as a thriller and it wasn’t… It had no known actors… I wouldn’t spend $9. on this movie but I would rent it…

Open Range

Monday, August 25th, 2003

Well, we’re back from vacation and back into the groove of going to the movies… click on…

Overview:
Four men (Kevin Costner, Robert Duvall, Diego Luna, and Abraham Benrubi) living in the Wild West band together to rid their town of a rancher who’s created an outlaw principality using brute force and scare tactics. Annette Bening plays Costner’s love interest.

Ray and I both like this movie. It was like the old time cowboy movies… action, laughs what else is there…
